Tamedia Advertising
Sales Manager, HubSpot Key User and AI lead. Sales and product in the same role.
Context
Tamedia Advertising is the advertising arm of Tamedia’s Swiss media brands (20 minutes, Tribune de Genève, 24 heures, among others). I grow a portfolio of 450 clients and 1,650 prospects across Vaud and Geneva.
450 clients, one rep
Managing a portfolio this size solo means constant trade-offs: who deserves an hour of prep, who gets an automated follow-up, how not to lose track of 1,650 prospects.
On top of that sits a cross-functional one: driving day-to-day AI adoption in a sales team seasoned in traditional methods.
Quoting in the room
The teams said it plainly: the production cost of a piece of content was never clear. In a meeting, you could not name a price. You had to deflect, dig through the catalogue, email the Commercial Content team, then wait for a quote. Half a day.
I built PK-Calculator, which works that cost out from catalogue and custom pricing. The rep has the number in two minutes, during the meeting. 50+ salespeople use it.
From brief to prospecting plan
Same logic upstream of the sale. A brief, an email or a meeting write-up goes in; a prospecting plan comes out, with the follow-up email, the script and the quote. Built by hand, that plan could take half a day depending on the size of the project.
Two changes inside HubSpot
As Key User, I set up automatic follow-up on deals with no activity for fifteen days. Fewer things forgotten, a cleaner pipeline, less revenue lost for no reason.
I also built an agent that answers users’ HubSpot questions from the internal documentation. 50+ salespeople use it, it is still running and I keep it up to date.
What drives adoption
There was resistance at first. What unlocked it was a demo in a team meeting: the more technically curious picked it up immediately, once they saw the time it saved. The rest followed in ones and twos.
The test I apply to an internal tool: is anyone still using it three months after rollout? The answer is decided after the launch.
What moved
+18% revenue on the portfolio, CHF 700K generated, with my own tools in daily support. The same tools run with the teams I trained across French-speaking Switzerland.
Highlights
- PK-Calculator: a production cost goes from half a day of waiting to two minutes, in the meeting
- An agent backed by the internal HubSpot documentation, 50+ salespeople, still in service
- Automatic follow-up on deals idle for fifteen days: fewer things forgotten, a cleaner pipeline
The takeawayA sales team seasoned in traditional methods uses tools it did not build, every day. What tipped it: a demo in a meeting, and time saved on the first try.
